After unpacking the new pot, rinse it gently with hot water and dishwashing detergent and dry thoroughly. If the boiler is hot, let it cool down for at least a few minutes before washing. If the bottom is very scorched, soak the pot in warm water for a few hours. Do not use harsh abrasive products. For residues that are difficult to remove, gentle nylon or soft abrasive sponges can be used, as well as a variety of sharp brushes. Do not use metal tools or very strong abrasives as you may damage the enamel. A few tricks will help to remove burnt food: add warm water to a saucepan, add a little salt and bring the water to the boil. Then let the water cool completely and wash the burnt food as usual. Or first soak the pot in hot water, add a little dishwashing detergent and, while waiting, scrub the stains gently with a soft sponge. If the stains still do not disappear, add a little vinegar and baking soda to the pot, bring to the boil and rinse with hot water. Do not keep the pot wet, always drain well.
Use of the pot
The Grand Feu is suitable for induction, hobs, gas hobs, ovens and grills. It is spacious, has a heavy cast iron lid, retains heat for a long time and distributes it evenly inside. Once cooked and left in the pot, food stays hot for a long time, ripens and tastes even better. The stew can be used to cool food. It can be stored in the fridge with ready-prepared semi-finished products or before serving on a hot day. (Just think of a cold borscht)! The heavy lid traps moisture that accumulates on the special protrusions on the lid and moistens the dish evenly. When cooking with Grand Feu, choose low or medium heat. This gives the best results. Allow the pot to heat up gradually. If the recipe requires high heat, reduce the heat to the desired temperature. At high temperatures, use the cooker only for baking bread. It is recommended to use wooden or silicone tools for stirring. First add the Grand Feu fat and bring to the desired temperature. The oil is hot enough if there is a slight ripple on the surface. A slight bubbling and foaming indicates the correct temperature for butter and other fats. If the fat starts to smoke or the butter starts to brown, it is too hot and should be cooled slightly before proceeding. The quickest way to do this is to remove the pan from the heat source for a few moments. Attention! Do not heat a dry pot. Damage to pots caused by improper care and use of the boiler is not covered by warranty.
